The Maiden Voyage

When my parents told me we were getting an RV and Truck I was excited for about five seconds until they told me we were selling our house. I didn't want to leave my friends and there were a lot of unknowns. My parents talked to me and said it was a family decision, they told me all the positive stuff and it sounded like an adventure.

Before we moved we got Blue, I was ecstatic we got a truck and were moving out by this point. Our house was full of boxes and I was so happy until I noticed that I couldn't bring my stuff, that was another hard thing about moving into an RV you can't bring all of your stuff. Those were the hard parts but I was looking forward to to our next chapter.

After we sold our house we had to get rid of most our things and the rest went into storage. It was a lot of work for my parents. Once everything was said and done we moved out of our house and stayed in a hotel for about a week in Missoula and then went down to Boise to pick up Tumbleweed we had to stay in a dirty hotel room at the La Quinta that night.

We went to go get Tumbleweed the next day and were there for several hours, the Airstream people showed us everything we needed to know about the RV. It was a very boring process, but I guess it was needed. It was nice to get out of there, but my parents didn't make good plans, so we still needed to figure out were to stay. Luckily my mom found a place in Ketchum, ID for the night.

It was late when we arrived and my dad went and got some food. It wasn't very good. I think it was some yucky mashed potatoes and some weird chicken. My parents brought a bunch of stuff and we had to unpack, make beds, and didn't really have everything we needed. The beds were all wrapped in plastic. At least we had toilet paper and no knowledge on the thermostat. Apparently my parents didn't take good notes as we woke up in the middle of the night freezing.

The next morning we headed back up to Missoula, MT, it was a long drive and we went thru Stanley, ID. We saw a really bad accident where a truck with a trailer went off the road. The traffic was backed up and there was a lady laying in the road. It was scary and I felt bad for the lady and hope she was ok.

When we got to Missoula we stayed at the KOA for a couple weeks. My parents were super busy getting our stuff out of my moms office. They packed way too much stuff and again had to get rid of more things and take the rest to storage. It was a lot of work and not much fun.

The last night we were in Missoula, my friends came to visit and say goodbye. We got pizza, had a campfire, made smore's and had a good old time. We miss our friends, but plan to see them again this summer.
